Writer's Block: Change is good [05 Nov 2009|12:16am]
[ mood | sore ]

If you could change one major thing about your life, whether a relationship, your job, your living situation, your school, etc., what would it be? Are you currently working toward a serious life transition?

Well this question is fairly easy for me. And the answer is a big gigantic yes. I'd change my health of course. I'd love the main focus of my life not to be severe pain, lots of time spent in the hospital and the ever increasing list of things I can't do because of my failing heart. So yes, I would change that. Am I working towards a serious life transition? Not really. Short of a heart transplant, there's not much I can do at the moment except maintain what I've got going. I've done most everything else. Eventually I will have to have more surgeries and who knows, I'll probably end up having to try for the other thing too at some point in my life.

Writer's Block: Come here often? [18 Oct 2009|12:37am]

What's the best pick-up line you ever heard (or tried)? What's the worst? If you're instantly attracted to someone, will a stupid pick-up line dampen your interest?

Ok let me see if I can remember this one correctly. It was something along the lines of "your ass is like an onion! It brings tears to my eyes". lol it had my laughing for a good few minutes. I've never heard an actual good "effective" pick up line. As far as a pick-up line dampening my interest if I were actually attracted to the person beforehand, I would say it would depend on how much earnest the line was said with. I mean if a dude's gonna use a corny pick-up line (and let's face it, they are all corny) but realize it's a joke and be laughing about it and maybe just be using it as a way to get me laughing too because that's what will end up happening anyways, then fine. I'm nearly impossible to offend. However, if the dude's going to be using pick-up lines as something legit than yeah that would probably dampen my interest. Anybody who takes anything too seriously dampens my interest. lol. I'm all about the comedy.

Writer's Block: Happy go lucky [15 Oct 2009|10:48am]
[ mood | sick ]

Do you believe some people are more fortunate than others or do you think people create their own luck? In your opinion, are some people cursed?

Well I personally refuse to believe in the concept of "luck". I mean honestly, think about it. If I indulged myself to believe in such a concept that people didn't make their own luck or weren't solely responsible for their own fates or that other things weren't just a series of random events that just happened because as the saying goes "shit happens" then I would be forced to believe that I'm one of the most cursed people in existence lol. And I'm just not that emo.

Ok coolest thing ever!

So the other day I'm sitting in the apartment with my one roommate and some friends and I happened to be reading yahoo news and I see this story about some guy who sold a video game for like $17k+ right. And it happened the be the gold edition of NES world championship 1990. Ok, so I was like wow that sounds familiar. Wait... Sitting in a box in our hallway for the entire time we've lived in that apartment and in several other apartments I've lived in and for like the last couple of decades has been the gray edition of that game! It's actually sort of a lame game, kinda fun I guess, but we never play it. It's mine. But I just never play it, never thought much about it, but I see it every day on my way out the door to work. So I was like hmm... If the the gold edition is that valuable then I wonder if the gray edition is worth anything. So I looked it up and sure enough! It's at least worth like $4k! Like holy shit! And it works! We tried it and it works!

So fuck yeah I'm selling it!

So christmas was nice. I had a good time. I went to my parents and stayed there for a few days actually and helped out a bit. I know they're still having a lot of problems with my mom not being able to do a lot and my dad quite busy. So I pretended I was a good daughter and helped out lol. I know it was at least appreciated by one of them so that's good!
And my dad got me a completely awesome present that I still can't get over ridiculously rad it is. He got me a light kit! For my photography stuff, it has too spot lights, some diffuser umbrellas, stands for the lights, a reflector, another diffusion panel. All kinds of awesomeness! Which is definitely something I need and I had been using the stuff at school but that is a pain to have to drive to whenever I have an assignment. He also said he'd get me a light meter. I'm so excited! I can't wait to get it all set up. He said I can make a studio dealy in the basement because there's only little windows that can easily be covered up and my apartment's got a lot of windows.

I also got some dvd box sets from my aunts (dexter seasons 1 and 2) and house season 4. yay!
And some gift certificate's and the twilight cd.
And from my awesome roommates a tshirt, a gift card from hot topics (my cousin works there) and an old skool nintendo gun! Ya know the one, to play duck hunt with. Something I'd been wanting for awhile now.

And best of all there was really no drama during the whole family gathering portion as their usually are. We played the silly white elephant game, people ate, there was no crying, no yelling.

So all in all happy christmas!

So I went to this wedding a few weeks ago. I think I mentioned that. I can't remember. Anyways, this isn't really about the wedding in general, just a particular thing that happened at the wedding that I found rather odd. Actually it was one of the more odd conversations I think I've had with someone in the last year.

Ok so there was this, I can't remember how he was connected to the bride or groom, I think he may have been a friend of the groom's father. Anyways, at the reception he and I and another friend of mine were casually talking about things when this fella announced that he woundn't be able to stay for the whole reception. "Why I asked?" Well he answered that his daughter had a cheerleading competition later that afternoon. Ok fine, we're still in the normal range here.

But then...

He starts off on this rant about how it's unfair that his daughter, because she is apparently very strong, is always stuck being one of the girls that lifts the other girls for the cheerleading stunts and is rarely one of the girls that's up front or something to that effect. This is just far too unfair, because you see his daughter is very hot. Yes that's right, you heard me. And he went on and on about hot very HOT his daughter was. And then went into some even stranger rant about how the dance competition teams were getting all the hot girls on them while the cheerleading teams are apparently stuck with all the reject 200lb klutzy losers. Yes, this is what this guy was saying. And it was very unfair, because again, his daughter was VERY HOT, and he didn't want her associated with all these fat loser cheerleaders. His words exactly.

My friend and I were just standing there like stunned. Like what the fuck are you supposed to say to this creepy diatribe about this guy's hot daughter and the apparent downfall of the hot cheerleaders in this country? Odd? Yes. Disturbing? Yes.

Well there's several interesting things going on suddenly.

I'm moving out finally! It occurred to me not to long ago that I can't live here anymore. It's just not good to for me. Life's to short. Of course my mother still needs help and so I'm moving not super far, and plan on staying here a few nights a week (which will actually correspond to when I have classes as well) so that I can take care of what she needs. My cousin will also do that since he too is moving. We're actually getting an apartment together. Me, him and his gf. We found a pretty good deal. They're moving in Saturday. I'm moving in next week sometime, I'm hoping to be all the way in by a week from this coming weekend.

I would move in sooner like when he's moving in buuuuuuuuut, here's my other big happenings. I get to have surgery on Monday! Weee... Nothing huge. It's really just exploratory surgery. Trying to see what's going on with my kidneys. Hopefully nothing too bad.
But anyways, I'll have to take it easy for a day or two after that, and then I can start moving in my stuff.

So that's all my crazy stuff!

Just finished watching all of season 3 of the office on dvd with my cousin Kace. It doesn't matter how many times I watch it. On the beach episode where Dwight starts going into the Aristocrats joke I crack up everytime! I remember in highschool I had this friend Robert and we had some sort of biology class together. Well we had to give this like 10 minute presentation. (Ok to give a little background on me in highschool I was not the most studious individual lol) annnnnnyways, we didn't do anything for this presentation until the very last minute and then we kinda threw together something that was really shitty and would have maybe gotten us a C- at best. So figuring we didn't have much to lose right before we went up for our turn Robert looks over at me and says I'll do most of the talking, you handle the diagrams. So we get up there and I've got pictures of whatever the fuck we were doing the presentation on (I think it was on cells) and he starts in with "so these two guys walk into this talent agency..." I so loved Robert. I wonder what he's doing now.

Btw if you don't know the joke, I apologize as you won't have known what I was talking about. lol
